is a proud daughter of Chinese heritage parents who arrived in the US in the 1980s as refugees from Southeast Asia. After volunteering to develop curriculum and facilitate workshops related to Asian American feminism and confronting anti-blackness in AAPI communities, Amy joined the board of directors for Asian American Resource Workshop, a Boston-based API community organization. For the past three years, she advised 5th and 6th grade students in Boston while facilitating summer and academic year out-of-school time programming at a local education organization. As a non-profit professional, Amy participated in the Emerging Leaders Program, hosted by Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics. Her additional experience in education includes teaching both 7th and 9th grade Chinese at a Boston charter school and teaching 4th grade English southern China. As an educator, Amy sought out institutions that prioritized educational equity for structurally marginalized populations. She received her B.A. in International Relations and Chinese Studies from the University of Rochester and is pursuing her M.Ed in Education Policy and Management this fall at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
